In its search for a developer with a pioneering spirit in the field of electromobility, Wentronic Solutions GmbH found what it was looking for. The sister company chose Lapp Mobility GmbH – a corporate start-up of LAPP, world market leader for integrated solutions in the field of cable and connection technology. After intensive negotiations, both owner-managed family businesses were able to agree on a new business model. Wentronic’s Managing Director Marcus Wendt sees great potential in the cooperation:
“Lapp Mobility’s premium products fit perfectly with Wentronic’s strategic orientation. LAPP is a national partner with the highest development competence and strong brands. This is a promising basis for our orientation in the steadily growing market of electromobility.”
Managing Director of Lapp Mobility, Dr. Simon Alig added: “We are very excited about the new partnership, which will significantly expand our B2C business.”
Connecting shared visions
Long-standing and customer-centric partnerships are the focus of both Wentronic and LAPP. Devoted identification with their own products is essential here.
“We are united by the vision of driving targeted growth based on honesty, courage and values. This unity creates a solid basis for a successful and strong partnership,”
says Marvin Diedrichs, Director Business Development of Wentronic Solutions GmbH.
Technical sophistication “Made in Germany”
Wentronic and Lapp Mobility rely on a sustainable supply chain in which the high-quality cables are manufactured in Stuttgart. Short logistics routes and fast on-site response times are the key to success. Behind the patented LAPP HELIX charging cable is an innovative manufacturing technique that saves the user the hassle of rolling it up. The restoring force with which the cable automatically retracts to its basic position after the charging process makes the cable unique. The award-winning MOBILITY DOCK – an innovative, space-saving charger that, in combination with any Type 2 charging cable, allows charging at a standard household socket – will also be added to Wentronic’s product portfolio. It is one of the winners of the Sustainability Award 2022 in the category Mobility Concepts Infrastructure as well as the German Design Award 2022
Growth through customer centricity
Customers’ quality demands are growing. Often, the charging accessories supplied by car manufacturers do not satisfy them, as Diedrichs points out. This increases the trend towards second and third cables. Wentronic is addressing this weak point in the market and wants to further strengthen Lapp Mobility in Europe as well as expand trade through Cellnet Group Ltd. in Australia and New Zealand. “The focus here is on the customer’s needs for innovative products and fast delivery,” emphasises Gerd Hemmerlein, Head of Sales & Marketing at Lapp Mobility. This customer-centricity and innovative strength will be decisive for success, Wendt is sure:
“Our objective of gaining a high market share for e-charging cables throughout Europe is possible with a strong partner like LAPP.”
